What to Wear for a Beach Photoshoot in Mauritius
Outfit tips for wedding, couple, and family beach photoshoots in Mauritius. Colours, fabrics, and accessories that photograph beautifully in sand and sun.

What to Wear for a Beach Photoshoot in Mauritius
The right outfit turns a beautiful beach into a magazine-worthy set. The wrong one fights the wind, the sand, and the light. Here is what I recommend after years of shooting on Mauritius beaches.
Colours that work
- Neutrals: cream, beige, soft tan, white.
- Earth tones: rust, terracotta, olive, dusty rose.
- Soft pastels: sage, powder blue, blush.
Avoid neon, large logos, and very dark black unless you want a silhouette look.
Fabrics and fit
Flowing fabrics move beautifully in the sea breeze. For women, maxi dresses and light skirts create movement. For men, linen shirts and tailored shorts look relaxed but polished. Families should coordinate tones rather than match exactly.
Footwear
Barefoot is often best on the beach. Bring a pair of easy sandals for walking between spots, and avoid heavy heels that sink into sand.
Accessories
Keep it minimal. A wide-brimmed hat, a simple flower crown, or delicate jewellery can add personality without distraction. Sunglasses are great for casual shots but take them off for the hero portraits.
Two outfits are better than one
If time allows, bring one dressy outfit and one casual outfit. The variety gives you twice as many looks without needing twice as many locations.
